LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals hosted the New College of Florida Banyans in a three game series on Royal Field.

Kicking off the series against the Banyans, the Royals sent out
Noah Harsch as the starting pitcher for game one. Today was perfect weather for baseball as the game started right at 3:00 PM and off the jump the Royals came out swinging. Our first runs of the night came in the bottom of the first when DH
Kayden Anderson hit an RBI single to left-center, scoring
Luis Cedeno for a 1-0 lead. The Banyans would quickly respond, scoring three in the top of the second on three hits and an error. Warner would tie things up in the third when C
Julian Figueroa drove in two with a single down the line. Fast forwarding to the fifth, the Royals would break the tie with a three-run effort. This was thanks to
Julian Figueroa, who drove in his third and fourth RBI of the game with a single. Starting pitcher, Harsch, would settle into the game after the second inning and keep the Banyans off the board until he was relieved in the 8th. Leading 7-4, the Royals would tack on three more in the bottom of the 8th thanks to RBIs from
John Malcom, Austin Chisenhall, and designated hitter
Kayden Anderson. Senior reliever
Liam Felix, would trail Harsch out of the bullpen and deliver two strong innings in relief for the Royals. Thanks to good pitching, and a late offensive boost, the Royals take game one against New College of Florida 10-4.
After a day one victory against the visiting Banyans, the Royals would fall behind early as New College came out the gate swinging. Through the first two innings, the Banyans would score six runs on eight hits but would not hold the lead for long. The Royals would respond quickly in the bottom of the second, starting with a CF Diego Guevarra two RBI double to bring the score to 6-2. Following a Cedeno walk that brought in run number three, RF Austin Chisenhall tied the game up with a bases clearing double.
Brock Joyce was excellent out of the bullpen, keeping the Banyans off the board the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the Royals offensive effort was just getting started. The home team would blow this game open in the bottom of the fifth, starting with a
Triston Devane homerun, making the score 7-6. Later on in the inning,
Pablo Delgado drove in the Royals eight run with an RBI single, scoring Guevarra. Austin Chisenhall would deliver with a man on, connecting for a two-run homerun, his first of the season.
Kayden Anderson would also tack on a run with an RBI single giving Warner a 12-6 lead going into the sixth. After a scoreless inning on defense, the Royals got back up to the plate with more runs in the tank. GRAND SLAM ALERT…
Luis Cedeno, hitting with the bases loaded, added four RBIs to his day with a no-doubt grand slam. Finishing up the game on the mound was senior
Freddy Gonzalez who threw a scoreless seventh to secure a series win for the Royals. Notably in this game, both
Luis Cedeno and Austin Chisenhall finished the game with five RBIs and played a pivotal role in the field.

Following a double-digit win in game one, Warner stayed red hot at the plate. Starting on the mound, Senior
Cauy Massner came out looking untouchable. The Royals scored one run in each of the first two innings but would tack on five more in the bottom of the third. Austin Chisenhall tallied another RBI with a single to center field, and senior 1B
Carson Nicodemo extended the lead to five with a two RBI single. Massner would fail to let up a run in this game and was exceptional. Following a scoreless sixth frame from the Banyans, the Royals up 12-0, would look to set a new school record for runs scored in a game. Summarizing the sixth inning for the Royals, they scored 17 runs on nine hits. Most notably, were a two RBI double from
Brian Garcia, and a bases clearing three RBI double from
Quentin Lefever. The only word that can summarize this game for the Royals is domination, as they win the game 29-1 and sweep New College of Florida.
