Warner Baseball Splits Conference Series On The Road Against The Bobcats

MIAMI GARDENS, FL- The Royals traveled to Miami Gardens as they faced off against St. Thomas University in a four game series.

In game one, the Royals struck first as Chris Fergueson would bring in the first run of the game via a double down the right field line bringing in Luis Cedeno. The Bobcats offense would explode in this game as they brought across 22 runs throughout all 7 innings of play in this one. The Royals would score once more due to an RBI groundout but would fall in game one by a score of 2 to 22.

After a tough game one loss, the Royals found themselves trailing 2 to nothing but would have a fire in their bats as Julian Figueroa would strike in the top of the third inning as he came through with the bases loaded with a double to the left center gap bringing in Delgado, Gonzalez, and Cedeno for a Royals lead. The Royals continued to gain more insurance runs as Triston Devane doubled to left field bringing in Guevara and Anderson and was quickly followed by a Quentin Lefever sacrifice fly bringing across the sixth run of the game for the Royals. Devane would add yet another insurance run in the top half of the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly. The Bobcats would showcase some fight as they would bring across two more runs but your Royals would take game two by a score of 7 to 5.

After dropping game one and taking game two, the Royals took an early lead in game three. In the top of the third, Luis Cedeno hit a sacrifice fly bringing in Gonzales for the first run of the game. The Bobcats would take the lead in the bottom half of the third via a double by Hernandez and a two run home run by Rodriguez giving them a 4 to 1 lead. The Bobcats would continue to bring across runs as they would strike for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning increasing their lead to 8 to 1. The Royals would showcase fight later in the top of the eighth as Ian Anderson doubled to right field bringing in Cedeno and quickly after Vicente would come into score bringing the third Royals run of the game. However, the Bobcats would add one more insurance run in the bottom of 8th inning and would take game three by a score of 9 to 3 over the Royals.

In the fourth and final game of the series, the Royals looked to split the series on the road. The Royals would take the lead in the top of the third inning as Figueroa would draw a bases loaded walk and the next batter Anderson would reach on a fielder's choice bringing in the 2nd run of the game and giving the Royals an early lead. The Bobcats would tie the game with a Fernandez single into right field. Offenses would be quiet for a few innings until the top of the 7th inning as Diego Guevara tripled to right field scoring in Brian Garcia giving the Royals the lead. In the bottom of the 8th inning, the Bobcats would score two more runs via a sacrifice fly and a triple putting them up by one. The Royals would start a comeback as Guevara would draw a walk bringing the tying run. A wild pitch would allow Garcia to score, giving the Royals the lead and the next batter Devane would hit a sacrifice fly and the Royals would continue to add more insurance runs in the inning. Fergueson would ground out and Chisenhal walked, increasing the Royals a four run lead. Figueroa would come through with the biggest hit in the inning as he would hit a grand slam increasing their lead to 8. The Royals scored one more as Guevara singled to left field bringing in the 13th run of the game allowing the Royals to split the series as they took game 4 by a score of 13 to 4.
