Warner Baseball Takes One Game, Loses Series To The Seahawks

LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals hosted a conference series against the Keiser University Seahawks as they faced off in a four game series.

    In Game one, the Royals struck first as in the bottom of the 2nd inning, Jhenzel Figueroa doubled bringing in the first two runs of the ball game. With an early lead and looking for more, in the bottom of the 4th, J.J Gonzalez doubled down the left field line scoring in Anderson and extending their early lead. The Seahawks would battle back as they would rally in the top of the 5th inning as multiple extra base hits including a homerun would allow the Seahawks take a 7 to 3 lead. The Royals would start to muster back as Julian Figueroa singled scoring in Vicente cutting the lead to three. The Seahakws would continue to apply pressure throughout the late innings increasing their lead to 12. The Royals would score one more in the bottom of the 7th inning as Chisenhal doubled, scoring in Vicente for their 5th run of the game. However due the Seahawks continuing applying pressure would allow them to take a game one win by a score of 12 to 5.

    Following the game two loss, the Royals looked to battle back and even up the series. The Royals found themselves trailing as the Seahawks would keep up where they left off from in game one as they would take a 4 to nothing lead over the Royals heading into the bottom half of the fifth as the Royals started to rally back. Chisenhal doubled bringing in Figueroa and quickly after Malcom would single to center bringing Chisenhal cutting the lead to two. In the final inning of the seventh inning Chris Fergueson would hit a sacrifice fly bringing in Luis Cedeno putting the Royals down by one. However, the Royals would fall in game two by a score of 4 to 3.

    After dropping the first two games, The Royals found themselves trailing 4 to nothing after the first half of the second inning. However, the Royals rallied in the 2nd as Gonzalez would draw in a run via a walk and immediately followed by Delagdo hitting a single bringing in the next two runs. Down by one, the Royals took the lead as another single by Chisenhal would bring in the next two runs and Chisenhal would quickly come in to score by an error by the Seahawks catcher. Heading into the third inning with a 7 to 4 lead, the Royals extended their lead as Delgado would double bringing in Devane and Fergueson and the next batter Cedeno would single bringing Delgado, putting the Royals to double digits. Cedeno would strike again as he would showcase his speed getting an aggressive steal of home. Offenses would be quiet until the eighth as the Seahawks would bring across three more and the Royals would add a key insurance run in the bottom half of the inning. The Royals would take game three by a score of 12 to 7.

    After a game three win, the Royals looked to split the series against the Seahawks. The Royals started off strong as they took an early lead in the bottom of the 1st as Malcom singled to right field bringing in Vicente and the next batter Figueroa would single to right field bringing the Royals with an early 2 to nothing. Later on in the inning, an error by the Seahawks would allow two additional runs coming in and allow the Royals to take an early 4 to nothing lead. The Royals added insurance and scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as Malcom would bring off those runs in with a single. However, the Seahawks would continue to battle back as multiple base hits such as a three run home run, and singles would allow the Seahawks to tie and eventually take the lead by a score of 11 to 6. The Royals battled strong against the Seahawks but would drop three out of 4 games in the series. The Royals look to battle back as they travel to Miami Gardens on April 11th as they face off against the St. Thomas University Bobcats at 6:00 PM.
