ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Warner Royals traveled up I-75 to Gainesville, FL to compete in the Jimmy Carnes Invitational at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe Indoor Track and Field Complex. The speeding Warner Royals proved well up against challenging large programs in the track and field world. After interviewing Head Coach Taiwo Ariyo, he shared points from the preparation of this meet to the conclusion of the competition, "I loved how everyone competed given that this meet was only the beginning of the indoor season. Coming into this meet, I wanted to see the athletes have fun and compete at the highest level possible. Seeing competition from NCAA Division 1 and NAIA schools all over, I was astonished at the grit and compassion most of them showed up with. They did not allow athletes from programs with large names such as the University of Florida, FSU, North Florida and more scurry them away making them not run their race. For our first meet, I'd say it was a complete success; being able to gauge where we are as well as the small technical things we will need to work on."
