Royals Secure First SUN Conference Victory with 2–1 Win Over Florida Memorial
The Warner University women's soccer team celebrated a milestone victory Wednesday night, earning their first SUN Conference win of the 2025 season with a 2–1 triumph over the Florida Memorial Lions at Royals Soccer Field.
From the opening kickoff, the Royals controlled possession and maintained steady offensive pressure. Senior forward Morgan Sullivan delivered a standout performance, scoring both of Warner's goals—one unassisted and another assisted by Clarissa Chew. Sullivan's energy and precision fueled the Royals' attack and kept the Lions on their heels throughout the match.
On the defensive side, goalkeeper Haley Van Houweling anchored Warner's back line with nine crucial saves, while Hannah Kenney, Alycia Hizer, Jaclyn Malagies, Sabrina Bouchachia, Shelby Cape, and Bailee Sanchioni turned in an outstanding defensive effort, making multiple key blocks and clearances to preserve the lead late in the match.
Warner outshot Florida Memorial 16–10, placing six shots on goal to the Lions' ten. The Royals' composed play and resilience down the stretch secured a well-earned home victory.
