RECAP: Royals Comeback to Win 103 - 78 Over Mitchell College

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals Men's Basketball team was able to overcome a 13 point deficit with 10 minutes remaining in the 1st half to win 103 - 78 at home over the Mitchell College Mariners. The 103 point performance is the highest scoring game the Royals have had this season so far.

After a slow start, Warner was able to find their rythym and turn a 13 point defecit with 10 minutes remaining into a 1 point lead to enter halftime with a score of 46 - 45. The Royals were able to keep their energy up to start the 2nd half as the Mariners attempted to match the Royals effort in a back and forth start to the half. The Royals were eventually able to pull away from Mitchell College behind strong performances off the bench to win 103 - 78.

All 13 Royals scored in today's high scoring outing, with Josh Irwin leading the charge with 24 points. Coming off of an injury, Irwin lead the team with 24 points (11-16 FG, 1-2 3PT), tying his career high in scoring, and recorded 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 1 Block in his return to the court.  Bryson Castillo contributed 15 points of his own to the Royals while also recording 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 2 Steals

Brodie Teke had a career day in today's matchup shooting a perfect 100% today going 4-4 overall, 2-2 from beyond the arc and 2-2 from the FT line, earning him a total of 12 points. Teke also recorded 3 Rebounds and 1 Assist, all of which are new Career High's for the Sophomore.

Warner shot 39-66 (59.1% FG%) from the field in today's game, going 11-21 (52.4% 3PT%) from 3 and 14-18 (77.8%) from the FT line. The Royals also had 3 players, Brodie Teke, Jay Leonard, and Akeem Dauphin, shoot a perfect 100% from 3 point range in today's outing. Warner's depth proved to be too much for the Mariners as the Royals were able to score 76 points out of their 103 total from their bench.
