RECAP: Royals Wrap Up Warner Classic in Defensive Battle Against Culver-Stockton College, 54-42

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner Women's Basketball wrapped up the Warner Classic on Saturday afternoon with a determined performance against Culver-Stockton College, falling 54–42 inside the Turner Athletic Center. The Royals competed wire-to-wire on the final day of the tournament, highlighted by strong defensive stretches as they continue to build momentum moving forward.

Julia Gilbert led Warner offensively, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. Gilbert connected on three three-pointers, accounting for much of the Royals' perimeter scoring.

On the boards, Carissa Marthy paced the Royals with 9 rebounds, continuing her consistent presence in the paint.

The Royals shared the ball throughout the contest, as Aleyna Sherman, Cameron Tripp, Chanelle Harrison, and Samaria Sims each recorded one assist. Sherman also led the defensive effort with 2 steals, helping generate extra possessions.

As a team, Warner shot 31.3% (15-48) from the field and 41.7% (5-12) from beyond the arc, while finishing 7-of-12 (58.3%) at the free-throw line. Despite strong perimeter efficiency, the Royals were unable to convert consistently inside.
