Warner Men’s Volleyball Drops Home Opener to Barry University in Three-Set Battle

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University men's volleyball team fought hard but fell in a three-set contest against Barry University at the Turner Athletic Center on Thursday night. The Royals dropped the match 18-25, 17-25, 17-25, moving to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, while Barry improved to 4-7 overall.

Match Recap: The Royals opened the match with determination, staying close with Barry in the early points. Darion Graham led Warner's attack with a team-high nine kills, while Michael Barnes added five. However, the Buccaneers capitalized on Warner's errors and pulled away to claim the first set, 25-18.

Warner looked to bounce back in the second set but struggled with consistency, hitting just -.143 as a team. Setter Emir Ege Gull kept the offense moving with 11 assists, but Barry's aggressive serving and efficient attack gave them the edge. Despite Warner's defensive efforts, Barry secured the set 25-17.

Facing a must-win situation, the Royals fought to stay in the match. Milos Sipragic and Oscar Jaquez contributed on both ends, but Barry's defense remained strong. Warner posted a -.074 hitting percentage, allowing the Buccaneers to maintain control and seal the victory with a 25-17 third-set win.
