Warner Volleyball Falls Short in Home Match Against St. Thomas

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University volleyball team fought hard but ultimately fell to St. Thomas University in a tough three-set battle at the Turner Athletic Center on February 8, 2025. The Royals lost the match 19-25, 18-25, 23-25, moving to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, while St. Thomas improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
 

Match Recap: 
The Royals started the match with strong energy, battling closely with the Bobcats in the early points. Darion Graham led Warner's offensive charge with 9 kills and 6 digs, while Caleb Welling and Quentin Maddock also contributed offensively. However, St. Thomas capitalized on Warner's unforced errors and managed to pull ahead in the first set, winning 25-19.

Warner tried to regroup in the second set but struggled with consistency, hitting just .167 as a team. Setter Emir Ege Gull worked to keep the offense flowing, finishing with 24 assists, but St. Thomas' aggressive serving and steady attack led to another 25-18 set win for the Bobcats.

Facing a must-win situation, Warner showed resilience in the third set, pushing St. Thomas to the limit. The Royals hit .184 as a team in the final set and were able to fight off several match points, but ultimately the Bobcats held on for a 25-23 win, sealing the sweep.
