FORT MYERS, FL - The Warner University Baseball team wrapped up its 2025 season this afternoon at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida, falling to Keiser University, 18-12, in a hard-fought elimination game in The Sun Conference Postseason Tournament. After opening the tournament with a loss to Southeastern and bouncing back with a win over St. Thomas, the Royals entered the match up against the Seahawks with everything on the line.
Keiser struck first, plating four runs in the opening frame. However, Warner quickly countered with two runs in the bottom half. The Seahawks exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 13-5 advantage, despite a 2RBI single from
Diego Guevara.
By the bottom of the sixth inning the Seahawks extended their lead to plating 15 runs, a spirited effort and a couple hits from
Carlos Vicente and
Luis Cedeno put both Guevara and
Julian Figueroa in positions to bring in to more runs to close the sixth 15-7.
While holding the Seahawks to three additional runs, concluding their offensive motion at the top of the 8th. The Royals weren't done yet! A 3RBI home run from
Sebastian Kuhns and sacrifice plays from Vicente and Cedeno closed the eight run lead to six, 18-12.
The Royals, led by starting pitcher J. Almanzar, fought hard against a tough Keiser opposition but could not overcome the Seahawks' strong offensive showing. The Pitching line up was followed by
Austin Vakiener,
James Stinson,
Gavin Tuttle,
Luke Courville, and closing out with
Noah Harsch, the Royals fought hard to put the Seahawks away. Warner's season record concluded at 23-30. As the 2025 season wraps up, the Royals express deep gratitude for the unwavering support from Royal fans and are already looking ahead with optimism to the next season, aiming for stronger performances and more thrilling baseball.
