RECAP: Randall and Harrison Post Career Highs in Sun Conference Road Battle Against the Gyrenes of Ave Maria

AVE MARIA, Fla. – Warner Women's Basketball battled through a physical SUN Conference matchup on Wednesday evening but came up short in a 58–45 loss to Ave Maria University at 5:30 p.m. The Royals stayed competitive on the road, showing defensive effort and balance throughout the contest.

Bethany Howard and Aleyna Sherman paced Warner offensively, each scoring 10 points. Howard finished 4-of-8 from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line (2-for-2), while Sherman added her 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting and went 4-for-6 at the line. Sherman also led the Royals defensively with four steals.

Chanelle Harrison anchored the effort on the glass, pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds to help Warner battle inside. Assists were evenly distributed, with Aleyna Sherman, Cameron Tripp, and Harrison each recording one assist.

Defensively, the Royals protected the paint with contributions from multiple players, as Howard, Tripp, and Anabelle Gogol each recorded a block.

As a team, Warner shot 33.3 percent from the field (16-of-48) and 61.9 percent from the free-throw line (13-of-21), continuing to compete against a strong conference opponent away from home.

The Royals return to Lake Wales for their next contest, hosting SUN Conference opponent St. Thomas University on Saturday, January 10th, at 2:00 p.m. inside the Turner Athletic Center.
