SWANNANOA, N.C. - Warner Women's Lacrosse hit the road for a two-game swing in North Carolina, taking on Montreat College on February 27 and Warren Wilson College on March 1. Across both matchups, the Royals showcased offensive explosiveness, defensive intensity, and continued growth as the 2026 season progresses.
Against Montreat, Warner delivered a strong all-around performance highlighted by a dominant offensive showing from Morgan Van Auken, who poured in six goals to lead all scorers. Vanessa Lynch paced the attack with three assists, helping facilitate scoring opportunities throughout the contest.
Defensively, Abigail Petrillo anchored the effort with an impressive eight ground balls while also adding three caused turnovers alongside Lynch. In goal, Sophie Mato turned in a solid performance, posting a .500 save percentage while facing 10 shots and making key stops to keep Warner competitive.
The Royals carried that momentum into their matchup with Warren Wilson, where the offense continued to click. Makenna Day led the charge with five goals, while the playmaking trio of Anaya Lister, Morgan Van Auken, and Abigail Petrillo each recorded three assists, emphasizing Warner's unselfish ball movement.
Van Auken remained active across the field, leading the team with five ground balls, while Day made a major defensive impact with four caused turnovers, highlighting the Royals' aggressive pressure and ability to disrupt opposing offenses.
The North Carolina trip reflected steady progression for Warner, with multiple players stepping up on both ends of the field and the team continuing to build chemistry heading into the heart of the schedule.
The Royals now return home to Lake Wales, where they will host Adrian College on March 2 at the Tye Athletic Field.
