Mobile, Al. – March 13-14, 2026 – The Warner University beach volleyball team traveled to Mobile, Alabama to compete against three strong conference teams. The Royals gave a strong performance securing one victory and close loses over the three games played.

 

March 13 – Mobile 3, Warner 2 

• Pair 1: Hampton/Sheffield (MU) def. Cooley/Fassnacht (WU) – 21-16, 22-20
• Pair 2: McDermott/Amer (WU) def. Dunaway/Drinnon (MU) – 21-16, 21-18, 15-12
• Pair 3: Frazer/Jognson (MU) def. Coggins/Gibson (WU)– 21-18, 21-15
• Pair 4: Warren/McPherson (MU) def. Dumont/Anderson (WU) – 21-15, 21-16
• Pair 5: Laboy/De Jesus (WU) def. DiDnna/Dorris (MU) – 21-11, 21-12

Match Recap:

The Royals opened the weekend with a thrilling match against Mobile University. From start to finish, the pairs fought to secure a win for their team. Pair 2, Skye McDermott and Antonia Amer, took Mobile to three sets and was victorious giving the Royals their first win over Mobile (21-16, 21-18, 15-12). 

 

March 13 – Warner 4, William Carey 1

• Pair 1: Cooley/Fassnacht (WU) def. Wilson/Gueddes (WCU) – 21-14, 21-14
• Pair 2: McDermott/Amer (WU) def. Engles/Villareal (WCU) – 21-19, 27-25
• Pair 3: Araujo/Alualu-Talamoa (WCU) def. Dumont/Anderson (WU) – 21-16, 21-19
• Pair 4: Coggins/Gibson (WU)  def. Laborde/Parker (WCU) – 14-21, 21-15, 15-9
• Pair 5: Laboy/De Jesus (WU) def. Gross/Mitchell (WCU) – 21-16, 21-14

Match Recap:

In the second match of the day, the Royals took a 4-1 victory over William Carey University. Pair 4,  Lydia Coggins and Laci Gibson, fought and won in a back-and-forth three set match (14-21, 21-15, 15-9). Pair 4, showed great determination fighting to push their game to a third set but fell short, 21-16, 21-19. The rest of the pairs won their matches over WCU to end the day 1-1 against conference opponents. 

March 14 – Loyola 3, Warner 2

• Pair 1: Cooley/Fassnacht (WU) def. Emanuelli/Corrall (LU) – 21-18, 23-21
• Pair 2: Martinez/Guillotte (LU) def. McDermott/Amer (WU) – 21-18, 11-21, 15-13
• Pair 3: Hannik/Petruzelli (LU) def. Dumont/Anderson (WU) – 21-15, 21-14
• Pair 4: Bazemore/Rodrigue (LU) def. Coggins/Gibson (WU) – 21-16, 21-17
• Pair 5: Laboy/De Jesus (WU) def. Barnes/Casino (LU) – 21-16, 21-16

Match Recap:

The Royals closed out the weekend with a close 2-3 loss over Loyola University. Pair 1, Leah Cooley and Ashlyn Fassnach, clutched one of the wins for the Royals in a hard fought second set (21-18, 23-21) win over LU. Pair 5, Imar Laboy and Julia De Jesus, dominated the weekend by going undefeated for the Royals. In all three matches, Pair 5 did not let their opponents score past 16 points against them.
