WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Royals wrapped up their SUN Conference series with #14 Keiser University with a double-header on Saturday falling in both games by a score of 14-to-1 and 8-to-2.
Abby Faircloth lead the Royals in hits on the day recording 4 total, 2 in each game, against one of the top pitching staffs in the NAIA. With Saturday's games, Faircloth has now recorded 4 separate multi-hit games so far this season which is good enough for 2nd on the team behind
Diana Martin's 6.
Grace Derstine scored the lone run of game 1 for the Royals after Warner was able to string together at-bats to get Derstine to 3rd before the Keiser pitcher threw a wild pitch that allowed her to reach home safely in the 5th Inning.
The Royals got on the board early scoring in the 1st Inning when Martin was driving in on a
Jillian Hudson RBI sacrifice fly giving the Royals an early 1-0 lead. After a few quiet Innings,
Alisha Wagoner crushed her 3rd homer of the year on a solo shot to give Warner their 2nd run of the game.
Keirsten Garman lead the Royals pitcher's in strikeouts on Saturday as she struck out 2 batters in each game for 4 total and bringing her total on the season to 22.
