TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Royals wrapped up their non-conference play on Friday after taking on Life University and Florida College in the FC Volleyball Classic. Warner battled against both opponents, but ultimately fell in 3 sets in both matches.
Warner opened up their Friday night double-header against Life University falling in 3 sets, (18-25, 19-25,16-25).
Lizzy Short had her best outing in a Warner uniform against the Running Eagles, leading the Royals in kills with 6, while tallying 2 total blocks (2 solo) and 2 digs.
Skye McDermott had another strong game for the Royals recording a game high of 12 assists and adding 5 digs to her stat line, while
Maricelys Rivera lead the Royals with 9 digs and had 1 of the two service aces in Friday's match with Life University.
The Royals ended their night against the FC Classic hosts, Florida College, where Warner fell in 3 sets (11-25, 21-25, 17-25).
Araya Garrison had a solid all-around performance for the Royals with 4 kills and lead the team in service aces, 2, and blocks, 3. McDermott continued her impressive Friday leading the tam with 12 assists and 8 digs, while adding 3 kills to her stat line.Â
Warner will look to bounce back next Saturday at their home opener when they begin SUN Conference play when the Royals host Keiser University.
