TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Royals Women's Soccer team extended their winning streak to 6 on Thursday night at Florida College with a commanding 8-to-0 win. Thursday's win was highlighted by
2 Hat Tricks from
Gianna Bellomo and
Elisabet Rosario as well as a
Brace from
Miya Sikhakhane.
The Royals came out firing on all cylinders to open up their Thursday night matchup and needed only 6 minutes to record their 1st goal of the game.
Miya Sikhakhane found the back of the net first for the Royals scoring on a rocket shot to the far side top corner from about 25 yards out to put the Royals up by 1. Warner continued to put pressure on the Falcons to earn a Corner Kick less than a minute after scoring the opening goal, which
Gianna Bellomo took full advantage of to score her 1st goal of the evening off of
Miya Sikhakhane's assist. In the 15th minute, Bellomo would find the back of the net again this time receiving an assist from
Elisabet Rosario.Â
Rosario followed up her assist with 2 more goals on the team's next two shots in less than 3 minutes of play to give the Royals a commanding 5-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the match.
Nerea Arranz also picked up her 1st assist of the season when she played Rosario through on a great pass from the Royals back line when Rosario scored her 1st goal of the night. Bellomo then completed her
1st Career Hat Trick before the 28th minute had passed when she received a great 1 touch pass from
Mackenzie Hart to give the Royals a 6-0 lead into half time.
Warner continued to dominate possession throughout the 2nd half as
Miya Sikhakhane secured her brace in the 58th minute when she scored a goal from the top of the box after battling through 4 Falcons defenders for Warner's 7th goal of the night. Rosario wrapped up the scoring for the Royals in the 68th minute when she completed her
2nd Hat Trick of the season on an unassisted goal and help the Royals earn their 8-to-0 win.Â
Warner's defense locked down the Falcons on Thursday night preventing Florida College from recording a single shot in part due to the efforts of
Jaclyn Malagies,
Bailee Sanchioni,
Maren Stark, and
Nerea Arranz. The Royals final stat line was 8 goals on 30 total shots, 19 on goal, 9 corner kicks, and no shots conceded.Â
The Royals will look to take this momentum into their opening SUN Conference match of the season when they host New College of Florida on Saturday.
