LAKE WALES, Fla - Warner Men's Basketball hosted Southwestern College (KS) in Lake Wales, Fla for a non-conference matchup.
The Royals faced the Moundbuilders of Southwestern College in a Non-conference game in Lake Wales, Fla. Southwestern started this game out hot moving the ball well, and finding good open threes to open up the first half. The Royals defense made the correct adjustments but struggled to find the bottom of the net.
Logan West had a great game as he had a team leading 30 points, and also finished with five rebounds, and two assists. The Royals came out of the half with great adjustments both on defense and offense, the Royals shot much better in the second half, as they shot 58% from the field, and 45% from behind the arc. The Royals were able to mount a comeback late in the game as West was able to tie the game at 72 with a huge three with a little over a minute left to play. The Royals were able to get a stop on the defense but were unable to score as the game went into overtime. In the first overtime, Southwestern got off to a four point lead, but it was quickly erased with clutch a clutch free throw by west, and a clutch three by freshman,
Christian Nurse with less than a minute left to tie it and eventually send it to second overtime. In 2nd OT, the Royals were down early and kept fighting back but were unable to pull off the victory in a heartbreaking loss as they dropped their sixth game of the year.
