Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla.- The Warner Royals women's basketball team took on rival Webber International Warriors Thursday night at Webber. The game opened up evenly as the Warriors held a 5-4 lead with 5:02 left in the first quarter. The Royals would then begin a 9-2 run to end the first with a 13-7 lead over Webber. Twice the Royals would stretch their lead to eight points in the second quarter, but the Warriors would not go away as the Royals went into halftime with a 24-19 lead on Webber. With 4:07 left in the third quarter, the Royals had pushed their lead to ten points, 35-25. That is when Webber started a 12-0 run to end the third and take a 37-35 lead into the fourth. The Royals hit shots and were tough in the fourth, however, the Warriors hit their free throws late in the game and were able to maintain an advantage on the Royals. In the end, Warner would fall to Webber 60-50. The Royals fall to 11-14 (5-8) on the season following the loss. Warner was led by
Sara Poehlman with 12 points and
Kaley Schmick with 10 points. The Royals will be at home on Saturday February 11 at 2 pm versus Ave Maria Gyrenes in their next contest.
