During his four years at Warner, Danny Neeves won many honors as an athlete. He proved to be one of the outstanding athletes in the early history of Warner. He was on the starting team for each of the three major sports for the four years he was at Warner. He was the first and only student to ever accomplish this feat.

Danny was an All-Conference soccer player for two years helping to lead the 1977-78 Royals to their first and only undefeated season in school history. The following year as a senior, Danny helped lead the team to another championship season as the team went 8-2. On February 16, 2013, the 1977-78 Men’s Soccer team was inducted into the Warner University Sports Hall of Fame Charter Class, of which Danny was a member.

In basketball, he was an All-Conference player for three years and was selected to All-Tournament Team four times. He was the second person to score over 1,000 points in basketball with 1,254 points.

Danny also played tennis for the college and was ranked number one in the school. Many Saturdays found him playing a tennis match in the morning and a soccer game in the afternoon.

Adding to his athletic career, Danny was a member of the first baseball team in school history as a freshman. During his junior campaign he had the second highest batting average (.356) in the 20-game season and tallied up 17 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and 5 doubles.

Danny graduated from Warner in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry. Upon graduation, Danny served as a youth pastor at Oceanview Community Church in Anchorage, Alaska. After leaving Alaska in 1987, Danny pastored churches in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and High Point, North Carolina. In 1995, while in High Point, Danny began to work with United Parcel Service and has now been with UPS for 18 years.

While attending Warner, Danny met his wife Susan. They have three children, Sara, Adam, and Timothy, and two grandchildren, Claudia

(11) and Lila (6).
